Default Month start placement on axes

I have a formatted chart in excel and the major tick marks and month data is
showing in the actual middle of the month. How do I make the tick label and
mark show at the beginning of the actual month?

Presumably you have a date-scale axis, with the base unit in months. Double
click the axis, change Base Unit to Days, change Major Unit to 1 Month, and
change the Minimum to the first of a month.

Hi Jon

Thanks for getting back to me. I have it set to a custom date of mmm-yy so
don't have an option to change to days when I click on the axis.

Format will not affect your scale options. Double click on the axis, and
click on the Scale tab. Right below the tab label, doe it say "Time (X) Axis
Scale" or "Category (X) Axis Scale"? If it says category, go to Chart menu
Chart Options Axes tab, and check Time-Scale under Category (X) Axis.
