This has to be simple...
With Excel 2003, I have a cluster column chart with bars comparing the percentage of total projects assigned (red bar) with the percentage of projects completed (green bar) for various employees. So the bars represent percentages, but I'd like to label the "Total" bar with the actual number of projects. I'm sure this can be done; I remember doing it myself long ago. Many thanks |

If I understand correctly:
right click a Total bar on the chart on the shortcut menu use Format Data Series open the Data Label tab and check the Value box best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme www.stfx.ca/people/bliengme remove caps from email "Rutabaga" wrote in message ... Hi Bernard, et al,
I can get the *percentage* label on the bar OK, but what I'd rather have as a label is the actual *number* of projects. My chart is set up so that the bars show the percentage of total projects (which is how I want it), but I would like to label each 'Total' bar with the actual number of projects people are assigned. Select the label with percentage, so it is highlighted by a gray rectangle,
type = in the formula bar, and click on the cell with the number you want to display. If you have lots of these to do, investigate one of these free utilities: Rob Bovey's Chart Labeler, http://appspro.com John Walkenbach's Chart Tools, http://j-walk.com - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "Rutabaga" wrote in message ...
