Default Several charts in Works spreadsheet into Excel seem lost.

I have a spreadsheet that collects rainfall during the year and provides
plots showing month by month and YTD against normal rain fall. When I
imported this into Excel, all the charts, which were not easy to set up with
various matching ranges of fields seem to have disappeared. Are they really
gone? Why does Microsoft hate Works so much?
