Default how do I stop excel from recalculating sheet every time I open one

Hi,

If Excel is prompting for a 'save' then something has changed. For example
this could be a cell with a formula in that looks at the current time.

If you haven't changed anything else then it's probably safe to ignore this
and simply close without saving but I wouldn't do it and if you want to know
why then this forum has posts from people asking how they can get their data
back because they forgot to save.

When competing hypotheses are otherwise equal, adopt the hypothesis that
introduces the fewest assumptions while still sufficiently answering the
question.

if I open one up to look at I now cant just x it out i have to say save, dont
save etc - another annoying step when I am in a hurry
