Default Calculated Fields in Pivot Table

Eduardo,

Thanks. It helped but in an unanticipated way. I originally set the format
of the calculated field to average but it did not change anything. Your post
however got me thinking about adding the revenue field in a second time to
the table and changing that format to average which gives me exactly what I
need.

Thanks again.

Hi,
If you go to your PT totals, right click in the mouse, field settings, then
choose average
Hope this help

In Excel 2007 Is it possible to create a calculated field using the sum of an
numeric field divided by the sum of a text? My table has a list of products
(text) which I have counted and the sum of the associated revenue (numeric).
Currently I calculate an the average outside the table. However, when a new
product is introduced the grand total formula is eliminated. When I added a
calculated field the results are #DIV/0!.

Thanks.
