Default can you automatically size text to fill a column?

To both Jims - thank you very much. The shrink-to-fit does work for my
purposes and is WAY easier than manually formatting each one as I have been
doing. All these years and I never knew what that little checkbox was...
Thank you!

Jim;
Shrink to Fit seems to only work If your input EXCEEDS the existing Col width.
I think this gal Cara was All Cells to auto-adjust (even the font) to Max
out the
Existing Cell Size.

Or am I missing something here?

Thanks,
Another Jim

You can do this automatically. First select the text range and assign it
the largest text size you'll ever need, like 24. Then, with the same range
selected, select the "Shrink to Fit" option under Format, Cells, Alignment.
You may have to adjust row heights after this.
