I have no idea why you have to hit enter after formatting and then after
entering the #1 in another cell but it works now as it is suppose to....
I'm removing the movie from my server so it won't be available any longer...

You do the copying the wrong way, you shouldn't be in edit mode when you
copy
if you want to paste special etc. Finish the formatting of the cell, then
press enter, then select the cell again and right click and select copy or
press ctrl + c and then do the paste. This is exactly as if you were
copying from notepad or something.

What did you copy from right before trying "Paste Special?"

Could it be from a window that's not an Excel window? For example, I get
a
result like yours when I try using "Paste Special" after copying from a
Word document or from a web page.

If that's your situation, try just pasting into Excel first, then
immediately copy from Excel and "Paste Special" right over the same cell
(or cells).
