Charts
1. Go to Chart menu Source Data, and click on the Series tab. Select the
first series, then clear the Category Labels box, click in it so the
blinking cursor is in it, and select the cell range that contains the labels
you want to use.
2. The techniques here may help:

"Charts and Titles" <Charts and
wrote in
message ...
Hi, I hope you can help me. I am new to Excel. I am including a few
basic
charts in a graduate research paper and have two questions.
1) How can I change the name of the bars from the numerals (right now they
are labeled 1, 2, 3, etc) to text titles? I have clicked all over and
can't
find any way to do it. So far my solution has been using the x-axis
title,
but the numbers are still there and it looks awful.
2) On two of my y-axis titles the last couple of letters in the title are
cut off when I import the chart into a Word document. Weird, right? In
Excel I can see all the letters when I zoom in on the print preview, in
Word
they are cut off. I tried to "stretch out" the text-box type thing the
title
is in, but it will only let me move the whole box, not chnage its shape.
Help!
Thanks for any help you can give!!
