Default ocr question

Nope, using a Minolta network printer/copier/scanner.

I'm not aware of any Trial versions of OmniPage. However, most Canon
scanners come with an "SE" (Special Edition) version as a bundle.

I could not find a trial version of this one. Do you know if there is a
way
to test before buying?

May be OmniPage by Nuance formerly by ScanSoft.

Some scanners already include the ability to scan to a searchable PDF
which
means there is some amount of OCR being performed.

Can anyone recommend an ocr program to convert a scanned image with
columns
of number to excel? I downloaded a trial copy of Iris but the results
were
not good. Would I perhaps be better off going to text and then
importing
into excel? Scanned image can be either pdf or tiff.
