I am using version 2003
Tickmarks are the reference point of the line in the line graph.
Below is a sample....

Jul 07 | Aug 07 | Sep 07 |

Imagine there is line connecting all three asterisks...
Ideally the tickmark should be represented in the middle of the vertical
gridline as shown in July 07. What is happening is that in Aug 07, the
tickmark is right justifying and Sep 07 is left justifying causing a kink in
the trend line.
Hope you are able to help us. It looks like a formatting issue but we have
literally exhausted all options here.
