Default How do i split an unmerged cell in two?

Id ban them if I had the say. Good for looks only. I lost several hours
yesterday with a book inherited from a merge-happy coworker. You cant copy
regions that partially intersect a merger. When I worked around the merged
cells, I suspect theyre the reason I got the dissertation like €ścannot paste
because source & target regions are different sizes€ť, even though both were
1x1.

technically you can't

while I hate merged cells, they have given me too many problems there are
still times they are usefull.

you can insert a new row or column to the right or below where you want your
data to be.
select the new row or column and the one above or to the left and merge the
rows or columns. go to the cell you wanted to split and unmerge.
