Default Multiple instances

Neil,

It sounds as if multiple windows have been set up with Window - New window a few times. You
see stuff like "Budget:1" "Budget:2" in each window if this is the case. If "Windows in
taskbar" is checked (Tools - Options - View tab), then each window will appear on the
taskbar. If the workbook is saved with this multiple-window set up, then the next time it's
opened, they'll still be there. The fix is to close all but the last one (click the inner x
in the upper right corner). When all but one is closed, the colons will go away. Save the
file to keep that single-window setup.

I have a user at work who is having a problem when he opens certain excel workbooks, that
contains multiple worksheets. Several (3 or 4) instances of this workbook open
automatically, each with a diffirent sheet open.

Has anyone seen this and know what the fix is?
