Default XL2003 and tab colours

Thanks Gord - and oldchippy - I never think of right clicking. How do I set
the default colours for a new workbook (or for new worksheets inserted into
a workbook)?

Select all sheets and right-click on a tab and "color tabs".

Choose a darker gray or any color you wish to give more contrast with the
Grouped sheets which will still show up as white".

You could create a Template named Book.xlt with the sheet tabs color as
you
wish.

This would not affect existing workbooks.

I have started using XL2003 after some years' experience with earlier
versions. On the latest version the background colour of the worksheet
tabs
is white in the case of selected (or grouped) sheets, but very very very
light grey in the case of unselected sheets. This makes it hard to see
which worksheets are selected or included in the group. Is there a way to
customise this, please?
