Default Excel file opens but no worksheets visible

One additional bit of information for my post...
When opening this file in WORD... when the option to open the entire
workbook, etc.. comes up... I am able to sort through the worksheets in that
workbook..

Not sure if that helps, but it at least indicates to me that this file is
some how still intact.

Interestingly enough, if I go into WORD and force this Excel file open with
Word... I can see the data as it is able to convert it. Is there any reason
for this behavior that would cause a 1.5mb file not to be able to be opened
in Excel? HELP!!!
