This is an array formula that you need to commit with Ctrl+Shift+Enter

=SUM(VALUE(IF(ISERROR(VALUE(SUBSTITUTE(E9:L9,"v"," "))),0,VALUE(SUBSTITUTE(E9:L9,"v","")))))

Just substitute "s" for "v" to get sick time
