The excel rule is "you cannot copy non-adjacent ranges."
But you can. Sort of. If the selection to be copied includes the same
cells from a number of rows (eg. A1:A4 and C1:C4), or the same cells
from a number of columns (eg. A1:C1 and A4:C4), then it will work – but
with two peculiar side effects : any formulae copied will be pasted as
values, and any spaces included in the selection will disappear.
