Default dumb question

it they are COM, then you can use oleautomation

if not, then you can use the vba shell command. - but you will have no
control of it - just start it.

Actually, i am. i have one workbook that kind of acts like a template.
in it, the macro saves the workbook to save any changes that i've made,
then pastes from the clipboard, saves it as range("b2") which is the
same 15 items everyday, so rather than making 15 new files everyday, i
just save over yesterdays as yesterdays are old hat by today. then it
does lots of other stuff including e-mailing and closing the new saved
as file, then re-opening the template file.
the only problem i've run into thus far was having to stop and push Yes
on the save as existing file pop up, and of course having to run the
same 15 files everyday. it's not hard, just takes a long time for all
the saving and pasting. i don't guess there's a way to program VBA to
run other applications that aren't microsoft programs?
