Formatting two colors in the same cell
Does anyone know how to format 2 colors in the same cell? Does Excell 2007
have this feature (I didn't find in 2003)? Note, it is not conditional formatting, but stripes. And it is not pattern either! I want "large" stripes or just two band color, with continued text crossing both colors... |

Answer: Formatting two colors in the same cell
Yes, Excel 2007 does have the feature to format two colors in the same cell. Here's how you can do it:
Now the selected cells will have two colors in them, with the text crossing both colors. You can adjust the colors and the text as needed.

hi
you can have multiply colors for text(not formulas) but background is one or none. regards FSt1 "Mamede" wrote: Does anyone know how to format 2 colors in the same cell? Formatting two colors in the same cell
Mamede --
If you navigate to formatting the cells (easiest way -- select and right-click on the cells, Format Cells, Fill), you can select a pattern style. You only select one color, which will replace the white in a black-and-white pattern, but it's better than nothing. The only way I know of to select two different colors is to navigate to the same place and select Fill Effects, and you can have a two-color fade from one to the other. Formatting two colors in the same cell
Don't give up, you can do this in 2007!
Select the cell(s) and right click and choose Format Cells, then choose Fill, Fill Effects. Pick a Color 1 and a Color 2, try the Vertical style and see if you like that. This is actually a gradient fill but it does produce two colors for the fill, and a mix as they merge. -- Cheers, Shane Devenshire "Mamede" wrote: Does anyone know how to format 2 colors in the same cell? Formatting two colors in the same cell
I found another question on the board which is a solution to my question as
well. We may use 2 columns (or 2 cells if you prefer) and center the text across selection. Clean and easy! "Mamede" wrote: Does anyone know how to format 2 colors in the same cell? The only way is to right click on the cell click on formating and then FILL and then FILL EFFECTS. You can choose a pattern for the color to fade from a darker to a lighter effect. It works very nice and changes it to a pleasant look. Hope this helps
