Default Upgrade to Microsoft Excel

I have Microsoft Works running on Windows ME. I would like to upgrade to
Excel. Can I do that. Thank you

Just to add to Gary's Student's reply:

And a word of warning--don't toss your Works program. Excel can't open files
saved in MSWorks native format. You may want to use MSWorks to open your old
files, save them in a format that excel can open.
