How do I insert a symbol in an Excel worksheet footer?

Couple of questions for you to answer.

1. Which version of Excel?

Excel 2002 and 2003 allow inserting graphics in headers and footers. Earlier
versions did not.

2. What type of Symbol?

If just a symbol like a WingDings symbol you can enter it directly using ALT +
code number.
