Default Excel - automatically saves as a 'TEMPLATE'

I have Window XP 2003 and it has just started this problem that whenever I
create an Excel document and then save it, it automatically saves as a
TEMPLATE...instead of the 1st choice to show "Save as Excel Worksheet".
HOW DO I CORRECT THIS ??

What is selected in ToolsOptionsTransition "Save Excel Files As"

Change to MicroSoft Office Excel Workbook if not currently set.
