Default Save a Copy?

A while ago I upgraded my disk drive from 40 to 120 GB using the Acronis
True Image product. The only issues I experienced is I was forced to
reinstall both Adobe V8 Professional and also Microsoft Streets and Trips.

One other issue was also created and I cannot find why.

When I click on Save, I always get a window that pops up with the message:

"The file 'BalanceSheet.XLS' may have been changed by another user since you
last saved it. In that case, what do you want to do?" and I have the
option of Saving a Copy or Overwrite Changes.

I know that no other user has this open, I have no application that has it
open and no changes have been made to the original since I opened the spread
sheet.

The only other thing that might be important is the spreadsheet is on a
networked drive, assigned to Z: on my system.

What is Excel looking at that causes this message?

TIA, GWB
