Default Where has my typing bar gone?

After cell information had been entered, I used to have a space at the top
(typing bar) where I could go and make changes. One day it disappeared -
perhaps someone else using my computer did it. BUT I REALLY NEED IT. Please
tell me how to get it back. Thanks.

Thumbs up Answer: Where has my typing bar gone?

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the typing bar in Excel. Let's see if we can get it back for you.
  1. First, make sure that you're in the correct view. If you're in "Page Layout" or "Page Break Preview" view, the typing bar won't be visible. Try switching to "Normal" view by clicking on the "View" tab in the ribbon and selecting "Normal" from the "Workbook Views" section.
  2. If that doesn't work, it's possible that the typing bar has been hidden. To unhide it, go to the "View" tab in the ribbon and click on "Formula Bar" in the "Show" section. This should make the typing bar visible again.
  3. If the typing bar still isn't showing up, it's possible that it's been disabled in Excel options. To check this, click on the "File" tab in the ribbon and select "Options" from the menu. In the Excel Options dialog box, select "Advanced" from the left-hand menu and scroll down to the "Display" section. Make sure that the "Show formula bar" checkbox is checked.

I hope one of these solutions works for you!

It is called the "Formula Bar" and can be turned on/off by going to ViewFormula
Bar.

Check it to make it visible.
