On some of the excel work sheets I am using I would like to be able to
insert an arrow in a cell but can't figure out how to do it. All I want
is a simple Up Arrow, Down Arrow, Left Arrow or Right Arrow.
Does anyone know how I can insert one of these in a cell??

Thank you,

Ralphael, the OLD one

The WINGDING fonts have some arrows, albiet not very good
ones.............and you can always use the Autoshapes drawing
arrows..........if contained within a cell, they will copy and paste with
that cell........

Hi Raphael,

Try this press and hold alt type 24 then release the alt key.
(you must use the number pad not the numbers at the top of your keyboard)

try again with 25,26+27, 16,17,30+31. There is all sorts of others in the
unicode series going up into the thousands and beyond.

Many, many thanks Martin. Just exactly what the doctor ordered. I have
several of the other unicode numbers but could not find the arrows.

You're welcome Raphael

I actually set-up a spreadsheet one time where I started at 'alt 1' and
typed in every code up to 10000 but the hardcopy has been lost in the
mists of time and the file seems to have suffered a similar fate.
I'm sure it is floating around somewhere on my hard-drive but my
file naming was fairly rudimentary and haphazard in those days so,
until I accidently trip over it one day, it will remain a hidden treasure!

Regards
Martin
