Default How do I get my computer to recognise .xls files

I use Windows XP Office at work but when I try to get a spreadsheet to open
on my machine it does not recognise .xls file

There is no such program named Windows XP Office.

There is Windows XP which is an Operating System.

There is Office XP which is also known as Office 2002

Perhaps you do not have Office on your machine.

Do a file search for Excel.exe
