Hi there, i'm new so i hope this explaination makes sense.
I'm just doing a practise run with something like a banking record. I was able to put in formulas that worked except.... in one cell there is a message that says " The formula in this cell refers to a range that has additional numbers adjacent to it." Then there is a little box with an exclaimation mark....when i click on that box it gives me choices, one of which says "help on this error". But when i click on that "help on this error" a help window pops up, but never fills in. It's blank. Does anyone know any reason for that? Second, how do i delete the numbers i put in the cells, but keep the formulas there for when i do next months banking? for example...... Every time i "clear contents, it clears numbers and formula both. Thanks for any help. |

Hi Pamela:
On your second question: 1. select some cells 2. pull-down: Edit Goto... Special... and check Constants your formulae will not be selected 3. pull-down edit Clear Contents your formulae will not be cleared. -- Gary's Student "PamelaP" wrote: Hi there, i'm new so i hope this explaination makes sense. Hi Gary's Student,
Thanks for the advice, but for some reason it didn't work. After i highlighted 2 cells with formulas in them =sum(E7:F7) was one of them.....then clicked constants, ok, a message popped up saying "no cells found" I know i'm doing something wrong....just don't know what?! Thanks for your attempt, and if you have any other ideas.........fire away ;-) "Gary''s Student" wrote: Hi Pamela: On your second question: 1. select some cells 2. pull-down: Edit Goto...
