Default Compare two worksheets

Hello everybody! I need to know how to compare two worksheets. I do not
know anything about Excel. I need to know how to generate the
differences into a new worksheet. Any help would be appreciated. Thank
you.

Default Compare two worksheets

For tasks such as this, I use Jim Cone's fine commercial Add-in called "XL
Companion". It will give a complete listing of all the differences between
the two sheets. It's available at www.realezsites.com/bus/primitivesoftware/

Default Compare two worksheets

There are combinations of formulas and processes that will allow one to "do
it by hand", but frankly, I wouldn't bother..........the add-in does it
quickly and I trust the results.........whereas if I did it by hand, I would
have to check and doublecheck.

BTW, you're welcome.........

Default Compare two worksheets

rageon75, here is a post by Gord Dibben on the subject and the addin is free

The add-in, Compare.xla written by Myrna Larson and Bill Manville, allows
you to compare the contents of two workbooks and highlight differences.

http://www.cpearson.com/excel/whatsnew.htm

Look for Compare.xla.

Download Compare.xla and add it with rest of your your add-ins.
On Tools Menu, select add-ins and check in (tick in)Compare Worksheets.
From tools menu then select Compare Sheets and follow instructions.

Default Compare two worksheets

I don't know if you just want to eyeball them, or do parity checking cell by
cell - but Try Excel help - compare worksbooks. Thsi is what you get for the
answer:

Open the workbooks you want to compare side by side.

On the Window menu, click Compare Side by Side with.

On the Compare Side by Side toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options
that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, click Customize on
the Tools menu, and then click the Toolbars tab.), do any of the following:

If you want to scroll through the workbooks at the same time, click
Synchronous Scrolling .

If you want to reset the workbook windows to the positions they were in when
you first started comparing workbooks, click Reset Window Position .

Click Close Side by Side to stop comparing workbooks.

Note If you open two workbooks, the command on the Window menu will include
the filename of one of those workbooks. For example, you open "workbook1.xls"
and "workbook2.xls". While viewing "workbook1.xls", the Window menu shows the
command as Compare Side by Side with workbook2.xls.

good luck
