File Page Setup Sheet tab
Put a checkmark in 'Gridlines'.

Hope this helps.

there's also, by the cell shade and text color drop downs, a grid drop
down menu that you can make certain parts, top bottom, all sides, heavy
bottom, etc to customize your project.

on most documents this file page setup etc., works fine, but for some
reason I have a few documents where even though the proper checks are in
place, it will NOT print with gridlines. Unfortunately, one of these is a
P95 size sheet and darned impossible to follow without gridlines. Any other
suggestions?

You have gridlines checked for printing but you may also have "draft quality"
checked which means gridlines will not print.
