two ways I would do that
1.) click in the cell that you want the final result then = (equal sign)
then click on the cell you want it to read.

2.) =IF(D9<"",D9,"") this will return blanks when there is no data (
instead of zero's)
it will also "read" text in the cell, not just numbers
