Excel slow saving
 

(Apologies if this is duplicated. I remember drafting but not sending
before)

Ever since downloading (28/09) Office 2003 Service Pack2 the larger Excel
files have taken a while (some 10 seconds) before starting to save to disk.
I have put this down to something in SP2 - although it may be coincidentally
something more sinister.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes Bill, you posted this and several answers were posted.
Rodney even offered his grandmum in trade for a solution.
I tried to find a solution so I could call Rodney's hand and
he would have to send me the old girl. No luck..

Rodney, regarding your mention of not ever using "Disk Cleanup" in the
other post; I use it all the time as well as Delete Cookies/Delete
Files/Clear History. I never find anything in McAfee virus after doing
these two applications.
I just wonder about those compressed files. I need to look to see if it
is necessary to keep them.

I may have spoken in error, in ignorance.
for when I did visit "Disk Cleanup" down in the hierarchy
I had ticked at some time in the past
"In the event of low disk space, auto use "Diskcleanup"
so I may at some time or other initiated this.

My computer husbandry is OK, I have a Cookie management
program, and the marvelous AVG antivirus program.

I use a piddly 6Gb HDD as my workbase, but run two 120Gb external Harddrives
that are divorced from internet intrusion.
