You can set it up to work *temporarily* that way using "AutoCorrect".

Works well if you're entering timecards on a Monday morning, and you
wouldn't need it again till next week.

Just go to:
<Tools <AutoCorrect
And set it up to replace the period (decimal) with a colon.

When you're done, just change it back.
