How about adding another column.
Fill it with: =rand() and drag down. Then sort by that column and take the top 120 entries. rpatel wrote: hello i have to do a coursework for school. i have a sample of around 700 students all with have been put in to catogories of gender what year they are in and their height and weight. is there a way that excel can randomly choose a 120 students from the 700? -- rpatel ------------------------------------------------------------------------ rpatel's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=25502 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=400155 -- Dave Peterson |
