Default in excel how do enter today's date on a laptop

on a laptop that has no seperate numeric keyboard how how do I key control+
to get todays date ?

See if your laptop has a NUM LOCK key.

The shortcut is not Control and the plus sign
It is control semicolon.

Current date Select a cell and press CTRL+;
Current time Select a cell and press CTRL+SHIFT+;
Current date and time Select a cell and press CTRL+; then SPACE then
CTRL+SHIFT+;

but you can rigt click on the desire cell and set the properties to
todays date

I got a lot of my begginer help on this site... cool
