Default Drag and drop

I have a set of input data in (say) A2 to A4. Formula in A5 and A6 and
input data in A7 to A9. Rows 5 and 6 is hidden. Row numbers and column
headings are also hidden.
The user types data into A2 and then drags to A9, in this process he
overwrites that formula in rows 5 and 6. If I protect rows 5 and 6 then
the standard excel error pops up.
How can I drag the input values without overwriting the formula?

The same will happen if you copy and paste. You'll need to paste into the two
areas instead in two goes or select the two areas by using the Ctrl key.
Highlight the first area with the mouse, then press Ctrl key and highlight
the next area keeping the Ctrl key pressed, then release the Ctrl key and
Paste.
