Default Click boxes in Excel

I've figured out how to insert a click box in excel by going to tool--
customize -- then creating a icon on the toolbar, however once I insert it
into Excel it doesn't act like a click box. All I can do is move it.

Do you have an icon on your toolbar that looks like a rule and set-square.
It'll be labelled "Design Mode" or potentially in your case "Exit Design
Mode" Click it and see if your click box works.
