Hi
i have a pivot table and i have extracted data from another file. Now i want to hide details of those numbers. that is when i double click it gives me the full detail of the number. eg names, location etc etc. i have send my file to other users but i dont want them to know all these personal deatils. any help Thanks |

If you don't want people to see that data, then delete those columns

PivotTable is a special object and (in most cases) it stores its data in a
'behind the scenes' data set called PivotCache which is stored with the file. The show-details-on-double-click feature retrieves the data from that cache. In order to ensure the recipient of the file will not be able to see the details for your pivot table I suggest copying and pasting it as values only. This will destroy the pivot table and pivot cache, too. But this will guarantee your source data is safe and unavailable for the end user. Kind regards IgorM "Rohit" wrote in message ...
