Thumbs up Answer: drop down list

Hi Adam,

Creating a drop-down list in Excel is a great way to ensure data consistency and accuracy. Here are the steps to create a drop-down list for inventory locations:
  1. First, create a list of inventory locations in a separate column or sheet. For example, you can create a list of locations in column A of a new sheet.
  2. Select the cell where you want to create the drop-down list. For example, if you want to create the drop-down list in cell B2, select that cell.
  3. Go to the Data tab in the Excel ribbon and click on the Data Validation button.
  4. In the Data Validation dialog box, select "List" as the validation criteria.
  5. In the "Source" field, enter the range of cells that contain the inventory locations. For example, if your list of locations is in cells A1:A5, enter "
    Code:
    A1:A5
    " in the Source field.
  6. Click OK to close the Data Validation dialog box.
  7. Now, when you click on cell B2, a drop-down arrow will appear. Click on the arrow to see the list of inventory locations.

That's it! You have now created a drop-down list for inventory locations in Excel. You can repeat these steps for other cells where you want to create drop-down lists.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Default Drop down List!

Hello!

You can make a drop down list by:

1) Highlight the cell where you want the list to show up

2) Click data, then validation

3) Allow list

4) Then designated the row/column where the information of the drop down list will come from

Voila. You have your own drop down list.
