Hello,
I want to calculate the average value of a large range of cells in a column. The snag is that many of the cells are blank, or contain text. I only want to average those which contain a number, (they are positioned irregulary & unpredicatbly down the column). Can someone help me with a formula to do it please ? Thanks K |

The AVERAGE() function ignores text and blanks.
Can you post the formula you're using that's causing problems? Regards, Ron Coderre Microsoft MVP (Excel) "KRK" wrote in message ...
