Default different colors for bars in a column chart

Hello,

I have a simple column chart (vertical bar chart) which shows my greenhouse
temperature. No problem.

I record the temperatures at different times of day, and would like to
display the bars in different colours according to the time of day, eg blue
for morning, red for afternoon, green for evening, etc etc.

I do not always record the temperatures 3 times a day, eg. if I am away. On
some days I might not take any temperatures at all.

I therefore have gaps in the data.

How do I go about displaying the bars in different colours according to the
time ?

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

I have Excel 2007

Thanks

KK

If your table of data includes 4 columns titled Date, Morning, Afternoon &
Evening and you can select Insert, Charts, Column, 3-D Clustered Column
chart.

Hi,

You really should show us your data layout and some sample data.
