Change a cell reference - NO affect until save file??
Why is this:
- it may be as simple a reference such as being in D4 and placing command =C4 and copying it down 1 cell by dragging the corner of the cell down BUT the cell D5 does not change to reflect what should be =C5. The formulae is reflected correctly in the top window for D5 but I have to do a save for the change to take effect. ???? Mike |

Hi,
Saving forces a calculate so it sounds like you have calculation set to manual. Try Tools|Options|Calculation and set to automatic Mike "MikeR-Oz" wrote: Why is this: - it may be as simple a reference such as being in D4 and placing command =C4 and copying it down 1 cell by dragging the corner of the cell down BUT the cell D5 does not change to reflect what should be =C5. Change a cell reference - NO affect until save file??
Hi,
Maybe the spreadsheet was set to Manual recalc for a reason. So alternatively you can press F9, Shift+F9, Ctrl+Alt+F9, or Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F9. All of these commands recalculate the workbook or application in one way or another. Of course the easiest is F9. -- Thanks, Shane Devenshire "MikeR-Oz" wrote: Why is this: - it may be as simple a reference such as being in D4 and placing command =C4 and copying it down 1 cell by dragging the corner of the cell down BUT the cell D5 does not change to reflect what should be =C5.
