Default Shared spreadsheet and Hyperlinks

How do I create Hyperlinks to files in a shared spreadsheet?
When I change preference to shared the insert Hyperlink becomes unavailbale.

That is just one of the many losses of functionality with shared workbooks.

See help on shared workbooks for more details on loss of functionality.

Use the =hyperlink() worksheet function????
