Hi

I have a spreadsheet that has two sets of figures for 2007 and 2008
split by month and by Sales Person. I now have a formula that
calculates the percentage increase or derease by accout which is great
(using the total for the year). But as I am not by any stretch of the
imagination an Excel User I was hoping someone would be able to tell
me what other things Excel could do with this information? I would
love to impress my boss!

Can it forecast on 2yrs figures, or can it say this sales person has
contributed x% to the overall sales figures.

Hope someone can help me here otherwise it will be just my increase
and decrease figures

Excel is your oyster! :-)

Have a look at the maths functions and, if you haven't already had a look,
add-in the 'Analysis Toolpak' (tools - add-ins). Also look at doing a few
graphs that can show information easily.

Depends how much of a stats/maths person you are. What is your job?

in the spreadsheet I am having difficulty cerating a blooming
chart...! I am not a maths type person at all which is why Excel is
my failing, even though when it works its brilliant but I do have to
ask for help most of the time ;-D

How is your data layed out?

Warning: before you go ahead and do fancy stuff, ask your boss what
information he would like to know and then you can add whatever extra columns
you need.

Highlight the information so you drag the cursor from A1 to E19

Go to data - tools - pivot table

Then you can create different pivot tables using the same source of data. So
after you have created one pivot table and you want to create another select
'other pivot table' as the data source.

To create a chart, highlight the pivot table and choose the 'chart' from the
toolbox.
