End line within a cell
Hi all, When I apply text wrap to a cell, the width of the column
determines how the wrap is handled. I want to have a short list in one cell, and start new lines within the cell for each item in the list. I have discovered that if I write the list in Word, then paste it into Excel, I can achieve this, but I haven't discovered how to insert an end-line thingy within the cell text directly in Excel Is it possible? Regards - Dave. |

End line within a cell
Try this:
When editing the cell...ALT+ENTER...inserts a line feed, forcing the text to wrap. Does that help? -------------------------- Regards, Ron Microsoft MVP (Excel) (XL2003, Win XP) "Dave" wrote in message ... Hi Ron, Thanks. Just what I wanted. Should I have been able to find
that in the Help somewhere? Dave. On Mar 3, 4:23*pm, "Ron Coderre" wrote: Try this: When editing the cell...ALT+ENTER...inserts a line feed, forcing the text to wrap. I'm glad I could help.
To answer your question: Search help for "keyboard shortcuts" ALT+ENTER is in the "Keys for entering, editing, formatting, and calculating data" section. -------------------------- Regards, Ron Microsoft MVP (Excel) (XL2003, Win XP) "Dave" wrote in message ...
