If the order form is hard copy, type in the information.
If in a file, let Excel pull in the file. The Help files will tell you how to bring in a file that is not in .XLS format. If in a database, you will have to let Excel query the database. The Help files will tell you how to do that (sort of). That is the best I can do without a good bit more detail regarding the exact nature of your challenges. I hope this helps. --- BBQDad -- "A little learning is a dangerous thing..." ----- A. Pope |

If the order form is hard copy, just type in the information.
If the order form is in a file, let Excel read the file in --- the Help files will tell you how to read in a file that is not in .XLS format. (For example, a file that is in .CSV format.) If the order form is in a database, then you have to let Excel query the database. The Help files will tell you (sort of) how to do that. Without a good bit more detail regarding the exact nature of the challenges confronting you, that is the best I can do. It depends... In what format is the order form? Hard copy? If so, then
you would have to type in the data from the order form. If the order form is in some type of soft copy, then you would want to open that file with Excel. The Help file will tell you how to do this. If the order form exists as a record in a database, then you would need to coax Excel to query the database to get the data. The Help file will (sort of) tell you how to do this. Once you have the data in Excel, then you can manipulate it as you wish. That is about all I can say without greater detail regarding the challenges you face. ---BBQDad -- "A little learning is a dangerous thing..." ----- A. Pope |
