Default Making Invoice templetes in excel

hello, family

new to excel 2007; how do i lock the cells so the text will not change, but
the empty cell can add text. its for an invoice, would like to set the
worksheet up so brokers can type in the field and when they press enter the
cursor automatically moves to the next text entry field

I assume this works for 2007, haven't seen it yet.

Select each cell where you want to input data and using Format - Cells -
Protection un-check the locked box.

Protect your worksheets making sure 'allow users to select locked cells' is
unchecked.

Pressing Tab or Enter will now jump between your un-locked cells.

Please avoid posting in multiple groups.

It still works that way - but getting there can be a trick since the Ribbon
has replaced the menu/icon toolbars.

What he needs is on the HOME tab, about 2/3 across to the right is the Cells
group, and in that group there's a [Format] sub-group, open that up and
there's a [Lock Cells] option and it provides a reminder that you have to
protect the sheet for the locks to be effective. The Protect Sheet option is
right there also (protect Sheet in the Format Cells group? hmmmm....)

Microsoft has also published an Excel workbook that has the new locations in
Excel 2007 'mapped' to where they were in previous
editions.http://office.microsoft.com/search/r...1 00860481033
