Thumbs up Answer: I can't enter text ot numbers into the cells!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!

[b]Troubleshooting Steps:[b]
  1. Make sure that the cells you're trying to enter text or numbers into are not locked or protected. To check this, right-click on the cell and select "Format Cells". In the "Protection" tab, make sure that the "Locked" checkbox is unchecked. If it's checked, uncheck it and click "OK".
  2. Press the "F2" key on your keyboard while the cell is selected. This will put the cell into edit mode and allow you to enter text or numbers.
  3. Check if your worksheet is protected. If it is, you won't be able to enter anything into the cells. To check this, go to the "Review" tab and click on "Unprotect Sheet". If it asks for a password, you'll need to enter the password to unprotect the sheet.
  4. Try closing and reopening Excel. Sometimes, Excel can get stuck and a simple restart can fix the issue.

I hope one of these solutions works for you!

If there's no prob with your keyboard (or its connection), then perhaps the
sheet is protected. Try clicking Tools Protection Unprotect Sheet
Password* OK. *You may need to supply a password.

You'll have to describe the problem a little more than that. Do you get any
error messages? If so, what do they say? What steps exactly are you
taking? What version of Excel are you running? Is it a specific worksheet
or workbook? Is it only this application?

I am running 2003 excel and I click on any cell and try to enter data and
nothing. There are other features I can't use as well. I took the Microsoft
training course and it told me to color the sheet tabs and I can't do that
either. And I can't get a new worksheet by going to file and clicking new
worksheet. It is not in bold. And no there are no error messages. I just
can't do anything. Thanks for your helpfulness.
