Default I get a black square box on excel instead of the normal corser

I haven't been using excel for that long and all of the sutton I get a black
square box instead of my normal curser and I don't know how to get back to
the normal curser.
Please help me

Do you see "OVR" on the status bar (Overtype mode). Press the Insert key
