if cell is blank, color another cell?
I have 2 fields A1 and B1
If B1 is blank I want the text in A1 to turn red. Otherwise it will remain black. Later if B1 is filled in then A1 will turn back to it's original state (black). How do I do this? |

use Conditional Formatting. 1. Select cell A1. 2. On the menu bar select Format\Conditional Formatting 3. Select "Formula Is" from the first drop down on the left 4. Enter the Formula =ISBLANK(B1) into the text box to the right 5. Click "Format" and under the Font tab choose Color and select Red. 6. Click OK and OK savbci Wrote: I have 2 fields A1 and B1 If B1 is blank I want the text in A1 to turn red. Otherwise it will remain black. You can use conditional formating (menu Format) in A1, set the condition with
"Formula Is" and use the following formula: =ISBLANK(B1) Then set the format as you want it in the Format button. Hope this helps, Miguel.
