Default Need result not formula in cells

Hi Mr. Ben!

Thanks VERY much for the reply. I will print this one for my notes.

Exactly what I needed with a wonderful explanation that made perfect sense
and now I can still use the 'fill;down' feature to copy my formula!

Thank you for your time helping others.

agreed it all to do with lock the cell by adding a '$'

for example...

$D$5 would lock the cell in a formula and no matter where you paste it
D5 would be linked.

D$5 would lock the row, so the column would alter in relation to it's
original position but not the row
