Default lowest common denominator

I know there is no lowest common denominator function but are there any ideas
on how i could get to that point using other functions? We were given the
hint that you could get there by using the greatest common denominator but I
haven't been able to figure it out. Yes this is a school assignment and yes
we were told to use each other, pros or anything else to figure it out.

Learn to use Google. Search for "lowest common denominator".
Look at the wikipedia article at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowest_common_denominator .
Follow the link to "lowest common multiple" at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Least_common_multiple , and you
will find your answer.
